Spatial Design
The main challenge of this adaptation is transforming the 2D game into an Augmented Reality (AR) point-and-click experience. We decided to use a movable "bounded" scene to give the impression of influencing people from a distant like a spiritual inuit god. However, Apple's recommendations for interface design on the Apple Vision Pro suggest a specifically windowed experience and do not yet endorse interfaces for the bounded system.
I had to design a spatial positioning system tailored to the game's "point-and-click" or, more accurately, "gaze-and-pinch" interaction. To prevent user fatigue, I recommended a design that limits extensive hand and head movements.
2. Prototyping
To determine the positioning of each interface element (menu, HUD, dialog box), I designed realistic visual models accompanied by schematics that explained the depth.
3. Iterations
In addition, I had the opportunity to position interface elements directly in Unity and systematically test them using the Apple Vision headset. These repeated iteration phases enabled me to validate the ergonomic choices made for interface positioning.
